Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Asst. Prof. Dr. Sommai Pivsa-Art, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), said the flood caused numerous damages, worth about 300 million baht, to the university especially the Faculty of Engineering because at the underground and ground floor placed with various giant studying machines. For the restoration and purchase of new machines, the faculty proposed needed budgets around 280 million baht to the government via the university and will be spending around 20 million baht from faculty budget for the repairs of tables, chairs and some new purchase if necessary. In addition, the faculty also talked with engineering faculty network, especially among the same Rajamangala Universities of Technology which were not flooded, to provide wanted laboratories for the students. In terms of studying, the subjects will be changed in this forthcoming semester to fit the equipment provision, teaching students more theoretical than practical as well as extra classes will be offered in evening Saturday and Sunday.

“I wanted to tell every alumnus in the industrial section to give opportunity for the students to practice using the machines and if there are any factories desiring the student to restore area, the faculty is appreciated to help” said Asst. Prof. Dr. Sommai.
