Fun can be designed

Most of toy designers take the imagination and experience or imagination in childhood to inspire their works, but amateur designers bring things around them adapting to make toys that can make imagination, creativity, and  Physical, emotional and psychological development, which  are elementary properties of toys.

The design project to build leg muscle for kids at the age of 9-13 is the thesis of  Mr. Chalermkiat Wongudom, 4th year student, majoring in product design, department of design arts and technology, Faculty of Fine Arts, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) invents foot pedal scooter to be a new toy that is adventurous but safe.

Foot pedal scooter is the toy that use leg power pedaling left and right to move forward or turn concisely but still lack of seat cushion that help set-up efficiently when making turns. Furthermore, the warning to warn people is not yet available.

The idea that chalermkiat adapts to the scooter model is seat-cushion design, and  more modern interesting feature by using 2 big wires to weld with small bases both left and right to allow a player able to slant left or right relevant to the turning positions and more convenient rather than the player has to stand playing all the time.

This thesis is 1 of 20 outstanding theses. Learners of the course will get hands-on experience from designing to creating product. They will learn what to search, the way to take existing data, and, finally be able to analyze data that benefit their future career.

Apart from learning hands-on experience, they also have chances to learn presentation skill to the committee that were invited to score them like professional designers, representatives of the Department of Intellectual Property, and academics in the design.
