31/03/2011On March 25, at Matichon Academy Conference Room, the Matichon Academy Training Institute under the subsidiaries of Matichon Co., Ltd. And 14 Printing Academic Institutes collaborate in establishing “Printing Academy Forum”(PAF) by Mr. Wichai Payakaso, dean of The Faculty of Mass Communication Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), Dr. Pongsak Payakwichian, director of Printing Engineering Institutue, Siam University, Prof. Dr. Suchapa Nateparadit, vice president, Research and Quality Assurance of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Assoc. Prof. Pakamat Pajonklaew, director of National Training Center of Printing Technology, and Asst. Prof. Weerachote Thammaporn, head of Printing Technology Department, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University participated.
The reporter reported that the meeting agreed that Thailand is going to be 1 of 10 countries in the ASEAN Economics Community (ACC). Therefore competition in building quality human capitals is the important factor to be competitive in ACC with higher than 580 million of populations. The exchange in experiences of professors in learning and teaching, research in development and training staffs to serve firms, demands of nations or ACC to support National Economic and Social Development Plan 11 which determines printing industry to be one creative industry would be promoted by the government.
Mr. Wichai said that this is the first great premonition in Thai educational history thus the collaboration in national personnel development, and the encouragement from the government to have 14 academic institutes train to have quality and efficient personnel would occur along with 3 monthly meeting of opinion exchanges. Apart from personnel training of each institute, the way to develop curriculums of Diploma to Bachelor’s Degree is discussed to set the printing personnel standard together. He wants the government to promote Thailand’s printing industry which grows up more than 2.5 billion baht, especially budgets in developing teachers and equipment, and the personnel related to printing technology are higher than 100,000 people.
Dr. Pongsak said it is necessary to have PAF due to the national demand. The work is as same as the meeting of university’s presidents coming to find the resolution and set policies together along with going back to the faculty meeting.
