20/04/2011Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) has spoken their very good ideas about to give 10,000 bottles of the felicitous water consecrated by 9 well known emples and mixed with Nam Ob (Thai traditional perfume) for people who are journeying to their hometown during the Songkran Festival (water festival) fully expected to seriously reduce the numbers of accidents and remind any drivers to be in consciousness. By another side of voluntary groups, the Stop Drinking Network at Muang Mor Kan shows their alcohol inspection machine which it is planned to be used during the same festival at Khao Neaw Road on April 15, 2011.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Numyoot Songthanapitak, the university president, RMUTT, said on April 6, 2011 that “during the significant festival especially like Songkran Festival, people will mostly go back to their hometown in order to visit their parents and relatives such as grandmothers, grandfathers and others for conveying and asking for the auspicious words and blessing. Due to that, it always causes a lot of potentially fatal accidents. To increase people’s mind consciousness toward their long travel and to alsoconserve ancient culture of Thai people, the University together with the student representative organization (the Student Organization), therefore, conducts the project of Felicitous Water Distribution.
He added that the above mentioned project has been done by teachers and students who have been awarded as the good researchers from Korea. The mentioned felicitous water was mixed with Nam Ob and consecrated by 9 reputed temples. After that it is inserted into 10,000 bottles and contributed to University’s teachers, staff students and other interested people.This is believed that it can help increase the mind consciousness and goodness, and dominate coming inauspicious events in the same time which finally reducing the accidents. Besides those, it can also be used for respecting their respected elders by adding Nam Ob. Intersected people can request these from the Department of Student Development, RMUTT and on April 11, coming day, pupils from the RMUTT demonstration kindergarten will distribute these bottles of water for free at the bus stations deposit the Future Park Department Store too.
Also, news reporter said that the Institute of Wisdom Promotion for Society collaborating with the Rotary Club of Bangkok Rattanakosin, the Taparak Center Mitigation and the CentralPlaza Rama 3 conducts various 2011 Songkarn Festival activities such as respecting Buddha mages brought from many crucial temples and other interesting activities at the activity ground on the 1st floor, CentralPlaza Rama 3 during April 10-17, 2011.
The director Niroot Utthatha, the Solution Center of Alcohol Consumption, said that “the Office of Stop Drinking Network for Northeast and the youth from the Stop Drinking Network group from Khon Khan address about the Alcohol Inspection Machine which will be used to count the numbers of no-drinking people in Khon Khan Province. This will help set the standard measurement and urge to increase the numbers of the above people. This machine is spent for 20,000 baht for its production,produced by the local youth and installed in the front of 2 gates of Khao Neaw Road. Here, the machine operates by using sound system set at the center performance stage and connected with other 9 ones. On April 15, 2011, at 19.00 o’clock is set as the day for no-drinking person cerebration. Any people who participate in this creative event will be recorded as in 500,000 persons and gain the stickers representing one of the greatest part of alcohol reduction campaign as the souvenirs.
At Mukdahan province, Mr. Chalard Toonsiri, a deputy of Muang Mukdahan Mayor, said that “in the province, there many Lao people are traveling to Savannakhet as their hometown, leading the municipalities need to increase the numbers of boats for the travelers at the port. In the results, it positively affects the product sale value because Lao people mostly purchase thingsfor their relatives as their souvenirs. Until now, the province has about the 10 million baht of sale value circulated in the province. In addition, it is expected that the value will continually increase until the Songkran Festival.”
At Chaingmai province, M.L. Panadda Diskul , the provincial governor said that according to the huge numbers of visitors coming to the province during the festival every year, so he has called upon the relevant officers from every related sectors such as hotels, restaurants and others to measure and control their food and service sanitary for the visitors for the security purposes preventing the possible bad events occurring during the Songkarn Festival.
