Column Super IQ: RMUTT students compete in contemporary design contest

Students of Department of Product Design and Innovative Contemporary Design, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts compete their theses on 2^nd Building of Art and Culture Center, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT). Recently, Supakit Boonsri, student of Product Design Department revealed, “I have designed and constructed environmental control cabinet for Gatsby mouse which was made from acrylic plates with the size of 25 cm. and 30 cm in diameter installing with cold Peltier plates and 2 fans for heat ventilation and cooling systems. The cabinet was made similar to the natural habitat of Gatsby mouse. Mr. Nonthawat Sornsaguen, student of Department of Innovative Contemporary Design (Leather Major) described what inspire his motorcycle luggage making, “I was inspired by the Mauri tattoo originated in New Zealand. I apply leather laser engraving technique on two bags and adjustable bag straps for motorcycle. Ms. Nattakamol Sai-bua, Department of Innovative Contemporary Design (Art and Craft) revealed, “I had designed and developed a modern Lotus-Lamp product made from weaving of plastic strips, bamboo strips and rattan strips. This product will attract customers who are handicraft-lovers.

Mr. Wuttaput Thongthai, student of Department of Innovative Contemporary Design (Pottery) said about his tea-sets, “This Japanese style looking Matcha tea-set has its design based on Sakura Cherry Blossom with light pink and yellow spots adorned. Lastly, Ms. Nahathai Sriwichai, student of Innovative Contemporary Design (Fashion Design and Textile Art) described her ‘Sweetness of Mudmee’ dress that the design of mudmee silk dress was inspired by the true beauty of a woman. Besides wearing for special occasions, this mudmee clothing could make your everyday life even more special.
