17/06/2011Assoc. Prof. Numyoot Songthanapitak, the president of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), said that I have called upon the committee relating the welcoming-new-student activities, 2011, in order to plan and limit the scope of arranging the activities. For the university, this issue is very significant and need to bring much more attention of every involvement parts. In suggestion, the activities must be creative and suited for new students which it can help them cultivate their positive attitudes toward the University rather than having negative one. According to last year having various feedbacks and comments relating this issue, I strongly would like to call upon the cooperation from every faculties and college (Thai Traditional Medicine College) to limit and control activities to be conducted properly and carefully. Moreover, activities related to the academic matters would be another recommendation because new students would be able to gain benefits from.
Vice president Virach Hotravaisaya added that “the University had already publicized senor students through the faculties, head of students, student committee of the Student Council and Organization about the regulations of conducting the welcoming-new-student activity, prohibition and limitation criteria. Before hosting the activities, senior students need to propose the activity proposal to the university in order to review the rationales toward the advantages and disadvantages of the activity. Seriously, the university is strict on activities engaging in alcohol matters, violence influencing both physical and mental, outside university activities conduction. If any activity conductors infringed the regulations, he or she would be frankly punished upon the academic regulation statement. Moreover, the University also launched the Cooperation Center of Welcoming Student Activities by calling 0 – 2549 – 3677, posting at www.sd.rmutt.ac.th or sending detail to sd@rmutt.ac.th. Search for more information at www.rmutt.ac.th. These are belief to be another useful way to complain and give any feedback.”
In addition, the Student Council, the Student Organization and the Radio Club are hosting the Watch Out Center of Cheering Activities by receiving the complaint and having students surveyed to watch out the unforeseen activities including consulting the activity arrangement from 9.00 to 24.00 around the university for 1 month during the semester opening.
