27/09/2016Students from RMUTT’s Bachelor of Animal Health Science, Faculty of Agricultural Technology Invented an Edible Cookie Formula Edible for Dogs, Cats, and Humans
Permanent Prof. Mr. Amorn Assawongsanont, lecturer of RMUTT’s course on Dog and Cat Management revealed that alumni can work in animal farms or promote sales, such as opening stores to sell pet supplies. The Dog and Cat management course is an elective that provides students with knowledge that can be applied in business to generate extra income. Recently, students have invented an edible cookie formula for dogs and cats, and humans.
Ingredients used to make the cookies consist of cookie dough, chicken eggs, baking soda, grilled or roasted chicken (for dogs), tuna meat (for cats), carrots, pumpkin, and salted butter. To make the cookie, put the cookie dough in a bowl and crack one chicken egg, followed by baking soda. Next, add the carrots and pumpkin puree, then gradually add pour until the dough sticks together. Cut the chicken or tuna meat into small pieces, put it in the dough, and knead the dough until the ingredients have combined. Put the dough into the baking mold before putting it in the oven that has been set to 200 °C, for 20-30 minutes, depending on the thickness of the cookies. Afterwards, let the cookies cool, store them in a jar, and consume within three days.
Ms. Janejira Pantako, a third year student in the Bachelor of Animal Health Science program said that she joined the program because she has six cats. She wants to apply knowledge gained from the program to create cat cookies. She tested her cookies by giving it to her cats and they ate it all, which is a way to cut costs for cat food. If time permits, Ms. Janejira plans to sell cat cookies to generate more income while she is still attending school.
Moreover, Mr. Kidanat Roongreung enrolled in this program because he aspired to open a dog café to cater to animal lovers. He believes that this program will equip him with ample knowledge that may be applied to the real world and create greater value.
