26/07/2022RMUTT reveals TCAS 65
01/08/2022Bangkok, Thailand – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sommai Pivsa-Art, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) insisted that all kinds of initiation ceremonies both inside and outside the university would be prohibited for 2 years in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The President of RMUTT further revealed the case of senior students who abused first years that after a thorough investigation on the case, it was found that the violence was not as part of the “Rub-Nong” ceremony but rather personal conflict. More importantly, physical attacks on the university were conducted by the outsiders, nevertheless; RMUTT pledged to take further action by ordering representatives of Department of Student Development to file criminal charges against the outsiders. As for the seniors, governing boards of Faculty of Engineering had appointed board of investigators and advisors to take part in finding solutions for the case. “We still see the initiation ceremony as part of our important events since it gives students sense of creativity, love, and solidarity not violence.
However, since the spreading of Covid-19, our RMUTT announced prohibition of “Rub-Nong” Initiation Ceremony both inside and outside the university and if there are any violations or misconducts against our measures, student involved will be punished immediately.
