Currently, fish farmers who culture fish in stew are facing with problems of increasing feedings production cost. Many of them turn out to use other kinds of feedings materials such as bread. However, how much to use the bread to gain a financial breakeven point and good quality of fish is what agricultural researchers should not ignore.

Therefore, Sming Champasri Narinrat, a researcher from the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) worked together with Decha Nawanukor and Somkit Anawatchakul from Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL) in order to find out how much the amount of bread would fit for fish feedings to save cost of production and also how to transfer knowledge and technology to farmers. If there is no sufficient study about the aforementioned method and conditions, it will cause many problems both in terms of production cost and less quality; finally it leads get more losses than profits.

The team portrayed that “this study was divided into 5 experimentations; these were fish pellet complemented with bread 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The experimentation was repeatedly done 3 times, taking place 18 weeks. The results were found that the fish pellet complemented with bread 25% gave most satisfaction to fish equal to the use of instant pure fish pellet. Moreover, this could help reduce the cost of production and gave higher profits.”
