Prof. Dr. Sommai Pivsa-Art, President of Rajamangala University of Technology (RMUTT) revealed that Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi took its part in research and innovation competition at Thailand Research Expo 2020, an event held by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI). The exhibition showcased network of 124 agencies nationwide at the Centara Grand Hotel and the Bangkok Convention Center Central World, Bangkok. RMUTT won a “Platinum Award” of Somdej Phra Kanittha Department of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’ royal trophy for technology and innovation in driving the BCG economy model.
When considering the researchers’ involvement and achievement in the exhibition and competition, “Development of banana-fiber for Home Textile and Clothing Fashion Show” by Assistant Professor Dr. Sakorn Chonsakorn, Faculty of Home Economics Technology, “Development of bamboo composites from bamboo waste”, by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sorapong Pavasupree, Faculty of Engineering, “Development of banana-fiber for knitting products” by Ms. Sopida Wisansakul, Faculty of Home Economics and Technology, and “Enhancement of fermented bamboo shoot process to meet food safety standard” funded by Thailand Science Research and Innovation had showcased their works. While the “Green Culture”, a research work of Ms. Worawinan Loy Mek had won her a gold medal in quality of life and economics category while the work on “Development of Android Mobile Application for Thai music by Assistant Professor Thongthep Sirisoda, Faculty of Architecture, won his silver medal in the category of AI Technology, Environment, and Energy development. The other silver medal was also received by co-researchers, Ms. Netnapa Kumlungmark, Asst. Prof. Dr. Amon Chaisat and Asst. Prof. Priyaphon Chaisat, Faculty of Science and Technology on ” innovative polymeric nanoparticles-containing dual-function for antimicrobial and coolant particle type surfactant” during Higher Education Innovation Contest 2020 comprising of 45 innovative works and 143 agencies.
