22/09/2011Asst. Prof. Nartrapee Chaimongkol, a deputy dean in Planning and Management, the Faculty of Business Administration, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), said that “in the past, the Faculty had collaborated with the Small and Medium-size Enterprises (SMEs), Thailand, on conducting the Personnel Development for SMEs Project aimed at producing SMEs personnel to transfer knowledge to any SMEs business owners. The project offered two courses. The first is Marketing: Packaging for Environment Conservation and Branding for Food and Beverage Industry, and the second is Accounting: Taxation for SMEs. In this time, there were 200 interested people participating in the project.”
Asst. Prof. Nartrapee also continued that “currently, an unemployment rate is too high leading many people turn out to initiate their own businesses. From the study, it is found that the SMEs facing with many problems especially about marketing because the business owners focus only in producing products upon their wants rather than the market needs. Moreover, they also lack skills about branding, packaging, and accounting and financial planning. Finally, these lead to negative impacts. So, preparation to sustainable development and ASEAN community in 2015 is needed. SMEs personnel must have readiness in every aspects of SMEs side.”
