28/12/2018With grace and honour, RMUTT students join The Royal Khon in the episode of “Pipek Sawameepak”
As representatives of Rajamangala university of Technology Thanyaburi, 4 of the RMUTT performing arts students along with other 768 performers who represented their college of Dramatic Arts and institutions had been selected and honor to take their parts in the Royal Khon performance in the episode of “Pipek Sawameepak” organized by The Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Technique of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand.
Miss Kanya Toopichit said, “It was really a tough training for the audition but it is just worthy to become a part of the Royal Khon performance yet again and I would definitely try my best to fulfil my intention. Back in the episode of “Prommart”, I was selected to represent in the performance and of course I was also lucky enough to receive a scholarship resulting from finishing a second place in the audition. Not to mention how I really feel proud of having the main role as “Benyakai” character. I had been training hard to perform my best not just to myself but also to make my trainer proud. From what I have experienced as a performer, I would say that I have received essential dancing guidance, friendship experience, and definitely proud to be a performer for The Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Technique of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand.
Mr. Krisda Kaewkong revealed that he was very proud to be selected as one of the leading performers in Royal Khon performance supported by Bang Sai Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Centre Foundation under the patronage of Her Majesty the Queen Sirikit of the Ninth Reign. He also felt that he had made his family delighted as well as his institution for taking part in the Royal Khon performance. Moreover, having more opportunities to be making new friends, exchanging his Khon dancing experience, and gaining better dancing skills had been giving the best experience of his life.
Mr. Thanawat Kongnil said, I believe for those who were selected and given a chance to perform in the Khon Yak performance would very much be honored and aware of how important and valuable this traditional dramatic arts performance has been. We sure hope to pass this priceless arts heritage on to our Thai younger generations. I always feel that learning Khon make me to become a person who could complete a required task or fulfill an obligation before or at a previously designated time with responsibility. Besides, we also gain knowledge and experience from the trainers who have been giving us tips and techniques to improve our performance and we learn the basics of stage lighting, sound, and color design, additionally.
Mr. Dolapong Suwannakeeri expressed his feelings, “I felt so honored and proud to be a performer in this Khon dancing performance. I had taken a role as “The 18th crown” monkey or “Sae na ling” in which my many considered this acting role to be small but I did work hard and train hard for it and did my best on the stage. I really want to do it for my Queen. I have received all kinds of experience from the performance including working collaboration, different types of dancing tips and techniques. I really believe that when are already becoming part of the Khon, we must be responsible for taking care of this national heritage as Her Royal Queen Sirikit used to give her Royal remark.
