Bang Pu Recreation Center, familiarly known as “Bangpu”, is a popular destination for locals as a seaside resort near Bangkok. Bang Pu Recreation Center is located in Samut Prakan Province. There are a numbers of food outlets including seafood restaurants. Additionally, Bang Pu seaside is one of the most beautiful bird-watching and sunset viewpoints in Thailand. Each year, from November to January over 5,000 seasonal migrating seagulls migrate to stay at Bang Pu Recreation Center from the cold weather area of Siberia, Russia.

For bird-lovers, the best time for bird-watching at Bang Pu seaside is after 4 p.m. since the weather isn’t too hot and the beauty of twilight at Bang Pu is yet to be unmatched. Visitors can enjoy free parking on Saturdays and Sundays in Bang Pu car parks. Be sure to arrive early, parking spaces are limited. When visitors arrive at Bang Pu, they will have their chance to admire an important symbol of Bang Pu Recreation Center, Suksa Bridge and this is where huge flocks of sea-gulls have been swarming. At the end of the bridge, the army’s welfare seafood restaurant is open for service. Since it is one of the major tourist attractions for bird-lovers, Bang Pu is crowded with people who want to take pictures of birds. Visitors will also find deep-fried pork for bird (20 baht per pack) sold by vendors during their walks on the bridge.  To have perfect timing in a bird flight shot, photographers are advised to be patient by placing food out in hand regularly.
