28/12/2017Top Researchers from RMUTT Receive 10 Awards at the International Warsaw Invention Show (IWIS 2017) in Poland
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prasert Pinprathomrat, RMUTT President revealed that top researchers from RMUTT received 10 awards from the five submissions to the 11th International Warsaw Invention Show (IWIS 2017) held in Warsaw, Poland, which was sponsored by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) and the network function.
The automatic control system for cultivating cordyceps mushrooms invented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Jakkree Srinonchat from the Faculty of Engineering received a gold medal and a special prize from the Romanian Association for Non-conventional Technologies in Bucharest, Romania.
Serum for nourishing the skin, made from pink rambutan extract from nano-sized rambutan, using ozome technology developed from coconut milk, invented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kornwinwich Boonpisoothnun from the Thai Traditional Medicine College received a gold medal with the congratulations of the jury and a special award from the Toronto International Society of Innovation and Advanced Skills (TISIAS) in Canada.
The development of an automatic tractor using a GPS navigation system, invented Asst. Prof. Dr. Kriangkrai Samsimuang from the Faculty of Engineering received a silver medal and special award from CIA Award Invention and Innovation in China, as well as a special award on Stage trophy from the Union of Inventors of Bulgaria.
Moreover, the pond snail sauce invented by Prof. Nunchalat Paekul from the Faculty of Home Economics received a silver medal and a special award from the Toronto International Society of Innovation and Advanced Skills (TISIAS) in Canada.
Lastly, nanomaterial made from inexpensive natural minerals, which was invented by Asst Prof. Dr. Sorapong Pavasupree from the Faculty of Engineering received a silver medal.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prasert Pinprathomrat, RMUTT President also added that the university strongly focuses on research in the areas of science, technology, and innovation. Numerous inventions have been patented with the private sector for commercialization. RMUTT’s involvement this year has been highly successful and researchers have gained copious amounts of experience. To exemplify, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kornwinwich, whom has previously participated in the show, received two awards this year. His research also aligns with government policies as it helps solve problems, has practical applications, and follows to global trends.
“I feel proud to be able to represent Thailand, build the country’s reputation, and display my capabilities on an international stage. Experiences gained from this show will help in developing professors and researchers, and inspire the next generation of researchers. Going forward, RMUTT’s research and innovation policies will promote the field of biotechnology and food, and Internet of Things (IoT) in terms of designing smart farms and materials science” said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prasert Pinprathomrat, RMUTT President.
