Prof. Sirikhae Pongsawat, dean of The Faculty of Science and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) said The Faculty of Science and Technology was assigned from the university to organize summer intensive courses for the new students in the year of 2011 and those have mathematics score less than 25 are required to take intensive courses. Those interested can take courses as well. There will be 3 groups of subjects which are Group 1: Ordinary students in science programs such as students from The Faculty of Engineering, The Faculty of Agricultural Technology and The Faculty of Science, Group 2: Social Science Programs such as students from The Faculty of Mass Communication Technology, The Faculty of Fine Arts and The Faculty of Liberal Arts lecturing on 17 – 27 May, and Group 3: Special Students in Science Programs lecturing on 14 – 27 May. The course fee is 1,000 Baht. Open for Application on 26 March 2011 at Rajamangala Thanyaburi Hall.
“RMUTT has opened intensive courses for new students since academic year 2006 causing a decrease in students who got F grade on their subjects. From now on the statistics of students’ results will be recorded to be the database for development of teaching and learning. The head of Department of Mathematics are assigned to manage the record which will start from 1st semester of 2011 academic year.
Moreover, the faculty has provided E-Learning in the course of Calculus and General Statistics to let students review lessons for more understandings. E-learning is like the teacher is really teaching and there’re also exercises to practice. Students can log into www.sci.rmutt.ac.th to learn and teachers can download teaching materials prepared by the faculty for students to review lessons.
