Miss Monchanok Thongthip, lecturer of Department of Radio and Television Broadcasting Technology, Faculty of Mass Communication Technology, said this
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Namyoot Songthanapitak, president of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), said this collaboration will be very beneficial in university development including enhancing knowledge for RMUTT’s lecturers, and collaboration with private sectors to have joint activities between staffs from 2 parties. These collaborative activities are to establish the curriculums and train staffs in the industrial sector to be according to the corporations’ demands including co-operative collaboration and internship, and grant opportunities for RMUTT’s teachers to enhance their experiences in co-operative. In this economic recession period, it would be beneficial for both parties that are teachers and students of RMUTT to receive the opportunity from the real situation experiences and the firms will be able to manage their staffs to work more efficiently to reduce costs of production.
Dr. Sataporn Thongwik, lecturer of Department of Mechanical Engineer, Faculty of Engineering, said that he worked at TOSHIBA CARRIER (THAILAND) CO., LTD. in the sector of heat pump. His internship was about the installation, maintenance, and examining the capability of air conditioners. He learned about organizational culture and also enhanced skills in using measuring equipment in the today’s industry, heat pump-examining standard, and power saving method for air conditioners. This training is helpful for learning and teaching in the university. Furthermore, staffs and students will be accepted to work in the internship program in the future.
Mr. Wattana Tanongpang, lecturer of Department of Tourism and Hotel, Faculty of Liberal Arts, said he worked for the hotel business at Yinyang Villa, Phuket which was fully operated by the investors. Villa where he worked was only for VIP guests. Everything had to be meticulous. He also said that this project is really good. The main reason that many people wish to work at Villa is because of well-paid wages, but the work is quite hard. The skill and knowledge he had learned will be applied in teaching appropriately.
Assist. Prof. Mala Ritnim, lecturer of Department of Clothing and Textiles, Faculty of Home Economics Technology, said she chose to work at Pailin Tailored school due to the full option which was distributing to department stores and designing. She felt like she became a new student again because she had learned many new techniques rather than the university would do. But working here taught her in sewing new style of clothing such as clothes in special occasion, high-class clothes and new techniques in stitching. Besides, she has created networks for students to have internship there.
project was strange for the firm’s sight as those who went for internship were students mostly. The firm that she worked was Thai TV. She went there to learn about TV production processes and special techniques used in production which were completely different from the past. She would pass on her new experience and knowledge to students because it’s important to know the way to act properly at the workplace which was called organizational culture.
Mr. Chitya Boonme, lecturer of Department of Civil Education, Faculty of Technical Education, said that he chose to work at M.V.P. 4 STAR Co., Ltd. which is the creative production company and tinsel installation on building like aluminium pads. He was in charge of designing and installing tinsel. He wished to bring these modern techniques to his class and also had collaboration to send students to record the method for video to be the teaching material.
These are some opinions from lecturers who were sent to work in the firms. It is a very good project for students, teachers and university because new technology plays a bigger role in today’s society. Learning new things of lecturers can pass on new knowledge to students. On this summer vacation, the university will send lecturers to embed in the firm as real staffs in the firms.
