RMUTT, “Getting Our Innovators Ready for Innovation Era

Asst. Dr. Sommai Piv Sa-Art, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) revealed that “Recently, Adjunct Prof. Dr. Anek Laothamatas, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation (MHESI), Thailand, presided over the meeting, which discussed a possibility of letting Rajamangala Institute of Technology (RIT) with its campuses establish higher vocational schools to respond to the demand of Science and Technology universities in Thailand.  Fortunately, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi has established Innovation Demonstration School of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (IDS-RMUTT) as stipulated in the resolution of the University Council many years ago. Right now, the school comprises of K-1 to K-8 students and in 2021, a new program is added for students of Grade 9. The aim of the program is to provide opportunities for students to continue their studies in the university level and to empower students through science, technology, and innovation turning them into future innovators. More importantly, the program will equip students with computer skills, language skills including English and Chinese, Finance, Entrepreneurship.

Asst. Dr. Sommai Piv Sa-Art added that, “Besides a plan for establishing higher vocational institutions, RMUTT also establishes collaborations among other higher vocational institutions creating academic supports including training and developing curricula. Hopefully, these collaborations will attract interest of students to study at RMUTT. The university also has aligned all our plans towards the policy of Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation (MHESI) who prefer to strengthen qualifications of higher vocational teachers, to promote the quality of learning and teaching, and to empower students to be active learners.
