28/03/2011RMUTT and F.T.I. developing and enhancing peoplepower in industrial sectors
Asst. Prof. Dr. Panpetch Chinintron, a vice president of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) said that “during a passed whole year, the University has collaborated with the Federation of Thai Industries (F.T.I.) in developing the staff’s ability, both in industry and the University, to reach the maximized potential by conducting the Job Training for Teachers Project with the Thai garment industry group in order to open the teachers’ attitudes to understand about the production and management processes which there are many changes in the industry.
Furthermore, the University and the Thai Textile and Apparel Industry also set the strategic plans in developing the production and manpower in order to respond the need of the industries by improving and developing the potential of teachers and students, and the potential of servicing the academic works toward to entrepreneurs.
RMUTT expected that “if the results of this development can satisfy the entrepreneurial groups, it can frankly lead the University be guaranteed in jobs for the bachelors and graduates. In addition, the University attended to design the factory management courses because there is a significance in operational management both in job production and human management. The courses have been divided into 3 groups with 99 total training hours; these are (1) Management/Production Techniques, (2) Management and Human Resources Development and (3) General Management. In the next step, F.T.I will continue to find out the experts to take part in.”
Vice president Asst. Prof. Dr. Panpetch added that “due to the opening of Thailand to the ASEAN community in 2015 which it can lead the freely labor capital move, F.T.I. now has concerned about technicians who have problems with English communication. Therefore, the University had also planned to set the English courses for this group of people in order increase the English communication skills and F.T.I. will continue to search the experts to train sooner.
Furthermore, both the University and F.T.I. have conducted the Career Standard project in order to establish v
ocational certificates institutes by primarily in three pilot industries, i.e. the machinery group, the automotive group and the air conditioner group. Moreover, the University has participated in setting up operational framework for the Industrial Professionals’ Brain Center which will be being established by F.T.I. due to an increase of people’s longer lifespan’ significance which finally causes the lack of working population. This center will also gather the experts in various fields to develop the ability of industrial sectors.
