Professor from Faculty of Architecture, RMUTT successfully invented insulated wall panels. Its properties are heat-resistant, soundproof, cheap and simply construction. The other one invention is new alternative cement sheet for construction and decoration work. The material is high elasticity, bendable, soft but strong. Both inventions use water timber as an ingredient. Their quality has guaranteed by 3 awards from the International Invention Show 2017 in Croatia.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Wachira Saengrasamee, professor from Faculty of Architecture, RMUTT, explained
Natural Latex-foam-Cement Sandwich Insulated Panel: NFC SIP has been developed to save energy in construction of prefabricated houses. This wall insulation consists of two main materials. First are durable fiber cement sheets for interior and exterior wall panel’s work. Second is significate development of Insulating material by various scraps foam which reminded from industries such as cushioning pad and Cloth fiber. The remaining foam mixed with the water timber will increase abilities of adhesion and insulation. Also, cement will strengthen the material. It prevents heat better than clay brick 4-5 times, protect the sound, strong, and fasten construction in the cheap price. Moreover, the latex could be usage to produce prefabricated wall panels, ceiling panels and roof sheets to save energy. This research result won golden medal from international contest and show innovation in International Invention Show 2017, Croatia.
One more work that has won the Silver Medal and Special Award from Iran from the same contest is a New Alternative Flexible Cement Panels.
“Current building materials such as synthetic wood or fiber cement sheets are becoming more popular. Whether used as walls, fences, ceilings or roofs. Those materials are made from strong cement mixed fibers. But the implementation is easily broken. Therefore, I decided to develop a New Alternative Flexible Cement Panels that qualifications are high elasticity, soft, bendable and low thermal conductivity”, Asst. Prof. Dr. Wachira said.
Normally, the water timber could blend with cement so he has to develop a new technique to merge all with compound material of waste fiber powder to build construction material that qualify strengthen, high elasticity. Therefore, the product could construct as a floor material in a sports field or playground, as wall, curved ceiling, Shockproof wall panels for the elderly and Interior decoration materials.
“Both researches are the first invention, used water timber as an ingratiate of construction material. This will encourage usage of water timber and added value as well in the nation regarding to government mission and support products usage of rubber transformation.
