Nurturing with this ‘New Graduate Program’, both learners and lecturers would be very much content with the course and yet truly be beneficial. Those learners who participated in the course would be able to acquire their knowledge that fit their career job, as well as to understand themselves what they truly wanted, and to be aware of the nature of work environment and able to predict their appropriate income that matches their work capability. And thus the program would be considered excellent not only for classroom theories but also their practical application.
Bangkokbiznews reported that the “New Breed Graduate Program” is a project that Udom Kachinthorn, MD, former Deputy Minister of Education determined to promote and support, corresponding to Thailand 4.0 platform and Thai higher education reform plan and thus the course was opened to all universities whether public or private ones. The course would be offering a new graduate program under the 4 principles platform, consisting of (1) increasing learner’s competency and expertise in order to respond to the needs of urgent manpower in driving the country’s economy. (2) In order to design appropriate vocational educational program, moreover, integration of life skills in digital society with vocational education must be well-incorporated. (3)Vocational education must be aiming at the new basic knowledge that goes beyond the 20th century’s which emphatically meets New S-Curve product sector and (4) the vocational education must be able to respond to the learning needs of individual learners.
After one year of introducing the program, all 8 new graduate programs of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), had been able to follow the platform of this ‘New Breed Graduate Program’ objectives by emphasizing on 50% classroom participation at the university and the other 50% at the workplace so that graduates of the program would be able to make use of their knowledge theoretically and practically that go along with the needs of the establishments.

Sumet Yamnun, Advisor to the Board of Directors Examination of the university council Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi gave his assurance that the ‘New Breed Graduate Program’ was considered to be a project that has a very high influence on the educational management system typically to the educational institution curriculum both government and private universities. The program was introduced for both degree and certificate levels that could clearly meet the country’s needs of qualified graduates.
“From our closed observation, it is known that many establishments would accept students who used to be training, working or studying in real workplaces. They must feel assured that students are capable of applying their skills on their work and thus, universities must design their curriculums that are incorporated with establishments so students could be trained in real workplace.
Altogether, ‘New Breed Graduate Program’ aimed its focus on giving students opportunity to develop themselves in real workplace. While, lecturers themselves also very much needed to improve and adapt their teaching styles to match requirements of the job market. Concerning the executive visions, collaboration between establishments and university was a must in order to create a productive curriculum and facilitate learners for their future career.
“If the university continuously runs its “New Breed Graduate program, it will help develop students, lecturers and university themselves. Because this curriculum is based on a lifelong learning experience, this curriculum may suit those who are young adults who have a full time job or those who have a part-time job but want to study during their free-time. The course, therefore, have been tailored to make leaners cheerful and yet create good career opportunities that match both learner requirements and the establishment ones.
Wisit Lorthamchak, Vice President of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi said that the university has been creating an RIT model in order to achieve their goal of being an innovative university and so, curriculum must be developed to facilitate and increase professional competencies with the support from related departments such as Department of Skill Development, The Institute for Professional Qualifications (TPQI) who has been applying professional standards to help analyze and develop courses that comply with the career opportunities.
Regarding to the instruction process, classroom instruction had been prepared by analyzing all university’s curriculum in order to determine the teaching requirements. The instructions would start off with the teaching of basic principles that could be applied in real workplace including job skill sets and self-evaluation. After the course, students must undergo a career standard test as specified by an external organization so as to confirm their performance capabilities as a university students. Through these instruction processes, instructors could then become an innovator.
