RMUTT Lecturer Presents an Award-winning Study on the Anti-aging Properties of a Local Herb
26/02/2015Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) hosted a merit-making ceremony for the purpose of raising scholarship funds for students with outstanding academic records for the 2015 academic year. The university’s president, Assoc. Prof. Prasert Pinprathomrat, and Phra Ratchakittimethi, Patumthani Province’s deputy head abbot, presided over the ceremony, which took place at the university.
The raised funds will support the Petchbuasan scholarship, which awards the recipients with full tuition expenses for the entire course of study as well as to support student athletes and those who work part time in the university. On a bigger picture, the scholarship program aims to help underprivileged students as well as inspiring them to have community mindedness and learn to give back to society.
Nawarat Rabilkadee, second-year student in the Thai classical dance program, one of the recipients of the royally sponsored scholarship, said that she was very happy to be a part of the merit-making event. “I don’t usually participate in this kind of religious event, but I was very committed and dedicated to helping out at this event as much as I can, because it’s a very important event. At the event, I volunteered at the registration desk and hope that this good merit will pay off as success in my academic endeavor,” she said.
Chaninthon Tangkanjanapas, fourth-year student majoring in Educational Technology and Communications, said that he decided to participate in the event and recruited friends to help out as well. “This scholarship program is very good because it’s bond-free, and the reimbursement process is very fast. Moreover, the recipients will learn to have community service-mindedness as well as creative participation in the community,” he said.
Chet Siguancha, third-year student majoring in Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications, and deputy president of the 2015 student committee, said that the program provides academic opportunities for those who otherwise may not be able to afford higher education. Another student, Boonmee Sa-nguanthong, fourth-year student in the Food and Nutrition program, agreed with Chet.
