20/09/2013NP Nano Soap (Silk Touch) is a chemical-free soap with an ultra-delicate texture and properties to soothe the skin and heal facial scars. Results from a pilot testing revealed smoother and softer skin after one to two weeks.
“We came up with the idea three years ago, in our small enterprise which produced and merchandised herbal beauty products. The NP Nano Soap was a result of our experimenting with the nano/microsilk powder,” said Assist. Prof. Nipon Wongwanit, co-inventor and former lecturer at Nakhon Sawan Rajabhat University.
Because it is chemical free, the soap offers a safer alternative to more costly, imported cosmetic soaps available in the market. “Its fine texture blends well with water, but without loosing its shape. After one to two weeks, you should see a clear difference in how your skin becomes more radiant, smoother, and brighter,” he said, adding that the soap can also be applied on other parts of the body, such as elbows and knees, to help soften the skin.
The nano/microsilk powder was earlier studied in another research project conducted by Assist. Prof. Dr. Apichart Sonthisombat and his team, which went on to win a gold medal at Seoul International Invention Fair 2009. The study focused on the application of the nano/microsilk power on sportswear, which eventually led to the idea of applying the powder in soap production.
“The nano/microsilk powder has a very fine texture; the smallest particle is about 800 nanometers. When made into soap, it allows for quick absorption into the skin and, upon contact with the skin, helps to heal acne scars or other types of scars as well as retaining moisture,” said Dr. Apichart, co-inventor and faculty member from the Department of Textile Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi.
The NP Nano Soap (Silk Touch) has been certified by Thailand’s Food and Drug Administration to ensure its quality and safety. For more information about the product, contact Assist.
