Indochina – GMS Returns Becoming Hot Issue: Educational Institute and TRF Support Creating Research

The cooperation under framework of Mekong Region, Indochina countries comprising with Thailand, Cambodia, Laos People’s Democratic Republic and Vietnam or under the cooperation framework of Greater Mekong Sub region (GMS), comprising with People’s Republic of China, Myanmar, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Vietnam and Thailand are being visualized on their capability and competency about co-solution which is not only in term of economics.

Knowing obviously of inter-nation’s relationship, understanding of development and environmental change under the technological development, and change of world power poles after world financial crisis, the ability of  research and educational institutes will be still able to provide information about the roles of great power countries for economic, especially China, and Japan. They are taking the significance in this region. The useful information will be provided for business sectors in order that they enlarge and enrich for their business analysis, investment plan and marketing strategy.

Recently, Faculty of Business Administration, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi conducted the practical seminar on qualitative and quantitative research in China in order to open the trade gate to Indochina. Its purpose is also to develop and create human power at all kinds of educational levels; Bachelors’, Masters’ and Doctors’ degree.

Chanongkorn Kuntonbutr, Assoc. Prof., Dean of the faculty revealed that the faculty has envisaged the importance of conduction of practical seminar about qualitative research. It is social science research. It can help researchers more understand the community problem, leading them being able to develop community. Moreover, it can also be a part of teaching development method for faculty instructors and help create faculty members being as new researchers.

This project has emphasized on the study of production competency of automobile spare parts and competition ability of automobile industry in China among the factorial change in term of economic and society occurring both in China and global community, affecting also Thailand. Its objective is to study the cooperation under the framework of the Greater Mekong Sub regional Economic Cooperation or GMS-EC which it is the international tradable encouragement. This would lead to the development of country including the increase of factor of production, technological development and better human livings.

April 30th, 2010, Thailand Research Fund (TRF) has just closed the research proposal namely, “Japan, China and Greater Mekong Sub region: Expansion of Effect and Adjustment”. TRF has seen the significance of GMS area that has meanings for Thailand and neighboring counties. More than a passing decade, the great power countries, Japan and China, have given obviously significant views on. These lead to important questions of who is the key driver, what is the supportive method of dynamics, and how GMS has been affected and its adjustment. These questions need research result as their answers.

Lastly, obtained knowledge and database can create the perception and realization of various changes in GMS area in Thai society. TRF will offer Thai and foreign policy makers the alternative policies and relevance in order that they can prepare to respond the future change.

It is an interesting follows up for the business sectors to understand and utilize the advantage from the research and make use to create economic value for the nation.
