It is well known that innovatively technological creation is important to develop the country leading to create self-dependence instead of wasting financial budget to import new technologies from other foreign countries. According to this importance, there are many private and governmental sectors have created and develop the technologies for the nation. One of these organization is a Innovative System Design and Analysis Laboratory or IDEAs, located at Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi.
What does IDEAs mean? Dr. Terdkiat Limpeteeprakarn who initiated this project revealed that “the IDEAs is mainly aiming to develop both internal and external human power of the university via the processes of researches, career creation for students, development of innovative invention focusing on Green Technology and Value Creation. These will be intrigated cooperation with professors in the educational institute, students and communities working all together for communities.” In other word, it is briefly concluded that academic officers, students and communities will create innovative invention to respond the need of communities.
However, where do these students come from and how can they participate in this project? Dr. Terdkiat replies these questions immediately by telling starting from the initiation period of the project that “IDEAs, actually, was created by the work integration of teachers and students from Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Business Administration. Firstly, he envisaged the importance of the policy set by the Higher Education Commission that they desires to promote the students to spend their time usefully. It leads to have this project and IDEAs has been developed the system of work integration following the above mentioned objectives . Students can work virtually like in a real company. They can bring out their best in their abilities studying from their field of study and faculty, and learn how to crop with the challenging problems interfacing them”
Meanwhile, there have been many knowledge integrations from many specialized field of studies and IDEAs will create multi-knowledge by their apply base on the same objectives that are focusing for producing the efficient research to respond the need of communities and to solve the problem of communities.
IDEAs has been working since 2008-2010 having 7 research projects comprising with
- Air Condition System for Electrical Train for Size 2 Seats,
2 Controlling the Movement System and Monitoring the Position of Model of Electrical Train by7 AC motor,
- Development of Sun Radiation Receiver by Parabolic Shape for Producing Heat Water or Electric Current,
- Drying Plastic Machine by Centrifugal Power
- Car Pattern and Electrical Current Distribution System by Upper Line Sender
- Development of Receiving Electrical Current Tool from the Third Track of Transportation Electric Train, and
- Tester of Lifetime of Bearing for Mass Transportation Electric Train.
Besides these, there are another 2 projects which are being waited for research fund;
- Brown Rice germination Machine for Community level (2010) and
- Brown Rice germination Machine (2011)
“In the future, IDEAs will have more development in term of training and consulting for public and private sectors and level up the organization to be at the top rank of the university. Moreover, IDEAs will try to initiate the dimension of job employment and income for the students and organizational human power. Moreover, now RMUTT also has cooperation with community by sending students and staff to study and develop the helping tool for them in order to create more value addition for their production and product. One of them is such as Community Enterprise for Vegetables and Crop Production by Organic Method, for example. In the future, it is planned to have more development in various way in order to respond more need of consumers and producers.” He said.
If it has to be believed that IDEAs is another hope of the nation, it will not be much distortion of the fact because it is undeniedable that innovation is another tool of driving the nation forward to a civilization and development of quality of life as well.
