“A good research should be conducted into the real places can lead to analyze the result accurately. I strongly agree that all information now can be found by Internet, but the result of research which is conducted without working in the real places of hypothesizes is not accountibilitable enough. For example, how can we know about the data of economies, cultures and society in the Southern part of China if we cannot see the real places?” Asst.Prof. Nikorn Selakam, Head of Department of Economics, Faculty of Business Administration, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, RMUTT, said.

Asst.Prof. Nikorn is one in many researchers who went to China to conduct the qualitative and quantitative research on opening the trade gate for into Indochina: Studying capacity Chinese competition of car industry by Faculty of Business administration, RMUTT. This study visit is headed by Asst.Prof. Nartrapee Chaimongkol and she also leaded 65 teachers from the Faculty of Business Administration. They visited two rounds. The first round is on May 8-13 2010 and the second round is on May 30 –June 3, 2010. At this time, they will study about capabilities to produce car spare parts and ability of car industrial competition in China among the changing factors of their economies and societies, occurring in the country and global affecting Thai economies under the frame of GMS-EC. GMS-EC or Greater Mekong Sub regional Economic Cooperation is international tradable encouragement. This would lead to the development of country including the increase of factor of production, technological development and better human livings.

“We expect that this research can help the faculty staffs to have more understanding about qualitative and qualitative research, to benefit the knowledge with the highest advantages and to gain the benefit ail data for both private and public sectors to set their goals and strategies in order to develop our nation. Primarily, data collection is expected to be completed within June. After that, the results will be summarized and published on domestic and international journals.” Chanongkorn Kuntonbutr, Assoc. Prof., Dean of the faculty added.

Team of researchers visited bus manufacturers, Guilin Daewoo Bus Co., Ltd, located in Guilin. This time, Mr. Au Kai Ter, a manager of International Business Management Department welcomed the researcher team. Here, Guilin Daewoo Bus Co., Ltd was established in 1994 which is joint venture with Korea with its ratio 50:50 of bus manufacturer. The bus grades are ranked at middle to high level. There are 1,100 employees on 140,000 square meters of its area. A long with its capacity, the company can produce 5,000 buses per year, but, now, its produces 3,000 buses per year. However, the company plan to move to the urban area where can help to increase its power of production at 10,000 buses per year.

Asst.Prof. Nartrapee mentioned that “this visit to the company helps to understand and know about it company structure where it comprises with car body framing, producing, painting and finishing products. Here, its standard is also certified by Security Certified Program (SCP) which certifies most of the original spare parts imported from Korea such as engines and a little from other companies. The company tries to develop its products to respond the Chinese customers’ behaviors. Therefore, at the present, there are 100 product styles servicing customers and 13 sale offices focusing on domestic and foreign sale such as Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar and South Africa. The lowest price at 300,000 Yuan and highest price at 1.5 million Yuan are sold for customers and its uniqueness is save fuel.
