Good activities for RMUTT students: Paramedic Volunteer to help patients but not to pick up the dead

“Helping patients but not picking the dead. Why? The answer is because there will be another unit taking the responsibility. If we see the dead, we will immediately call for helping from the Gratitude Foundation and the Poh Teck Tung Foundation”.

The voice of 4 students from “Jame” (Mr. Supanut Thitikan), “Sut” (Mr. Suthisak PongDee), the 5th year students and “Pe” (Mr. Suteerat Pakaedam) and “Wut” (Mr. Katawut Tongserm), the 3rd years students from Mechanical Education Department, Faculty of Technical Education who are in the voluntary foundation named Bua Pet mentioned that they are taking charge of the area of klong Laung district and Thanyaburi district in order to help people who got injured from the accidents.

Dr. Paiboon Saiyawong, Director of Student Development Department mentioned that “there are many projects and student clubs offering for students who are interested in during their free time according to the statement of the university. The projects and clubs have focused on academic, society, physiology and experience increase in order that students can be promoted and developed for their ability and competency”. Moreover, he also additionally said that “not only the knowledge gaining from the classroom but also experience will help the students pursuing and enhancing for their job. The voluntary foundation, named Bua Pet, is one of activities and it is accounted as a very good activity for being prototype in current era.

Jame, Mr. Supanut Thitikan, the 5th year student from Mechanical Education Department, Faculty of Technical Education stated that more than 5 years for being a volunteer in this foundation. The reason behind of being in is because there is lack of helping when people get accidents or get injured.

“If we don’t help, who will help these patients” the simple spellings but behind this has the meaningful is also addressed. However, after he has participated in this foundation, his studying is still being running. His normal day work starts after the finished classroom time, from 5 pm. to 12 am., and on weekend he works for the whole day. For the first aid equipment, he has to set his money apart in order to purchase himself without subsidized by the foundation. He told that he was very happy to help other people even though he had to pay for purchasing the equipment. “Moreover, I would like to invite many friends to apply for being members. Then, you will know what the meaning of proud is”.

Sut or Mr. Suthisak PongDee, Jame’s classmate, told that, after he participated in this foundation, he feels that every life has its sky-scraping value. Helping people from different situation lets knowing different people habits. From helping 10 people, it is found that there is the same people’s attitude at only 2 people.

On the way in the vehicles, we need to talk to the patient in order that they will not sleep or be unconscious and it also includes the first aid. I am very proud to be a part of this foundation even though I cannot have returning compensation.

“Life is more value than money and other things”. Now, he uses pick-up car to convey the patient. In the car, there is a set of first aid equipment and he is saving money to pay for other relevant important equipment. Sometimes, he has to go for work with his friends because in each time of working there should be at least 2 volunteers in the car.

Pe, Mr. Suteerat Pakaedam, the 3rd year student mentioned that during working period, thing has to be remembered is consciousness because volunteer can easily encounter the high risk especially such as fast drive car, it is need high speed to get the accident place as soon as possible.

“Driving car with high speed is also needed the driving manner on the road as well because if we crash another cars then, it will cause more problem instead of mitigate problem”. He added that at first time of being a member in this foundation, he was very scared of his ability that he would have not enough to work on. “Fear is an imagination. If we still imagine about it, fear will be with us forever” he spelled.

Wut or Mr. Katawut Tongserm, the 3rd year student from Mechanical Education Department said that he is very happy for passing 3 year working with this foundation. If there is no first aid for the patients, helpers will play important roles because if there is no helper to help injured people in time, the patients can pass away too.

Voluntary makes experience for people. Every volunteer gains the smile from the patient as their compensation. People loves their life, therefore, if we can help who is suffering, we should do. We don’t have ability to help in term of finance but we can help them in term of physical ability. We are ready to help every moment.

We help them with our potentials without considering who they are. We don’t need to have compensation in term of money or other valuable things. We need only smile and Thank You as our return. 4 guys with heartiness from the bottom of volunteers ended their speech.
