The Faculty of Engineering was established in 1975 as the Faculty of Engineering Technology, at the Institute of Technology and Vocational Education (ITVE). On 19 January 1994, the faculty was renamed as the Faculty of Engineering of Rajamangala Institute of Technology and was moved to another campus, at Klong 6, Thanyaburi, Pathumthani.
The university was renamed Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi on 18 January 2005. and the Faculty of Engineering is one of its oldest faculties. It covers an area of 58,542 square meters. The faculty consists of 25 buildings. It has the largest teaching areas and more buildings than any other faculty. It comprises 10 departments:
• Civil Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Industrial Engineering
• Textile Engineering
• Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
• Computer Engineering
• Chemical Engineering
• Material and Metallurgical Engineering
• Agricultural Engineering
At present, the faculty offers masters and doctoral degree programs through its Office of Graduate Studies. Moreover, there are three advanced research and training centers providing academic services, as follows:
1. Center of Automatic Machine Technology
2. Petrochemical Human Resource Technical Training Center
3. Center of Excellence in Research and Sustainable Energy Management
Careers after graduation
Upon graduation, graduates may pursue careers as an engineer in various functions in public and private companies, such as an engineer that designs and manages construction work, an engineer that designs and manages highways, and an engineer responsible for construction management. Graduates may also pursue careers as a computer systems and network engineer for various functions in a company, a systems engineer in various plants or factories, or an engineer in factory, responsible for the production and assembly of automotive parts, among other careers.
