RMUTT issues educational documents in the form of a DIGITAL TRANSCRIPT, entering the era of DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

Associate Professor Dr. Sommai Pivsa-Art, the President of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), revealed that RMUTT has adopted a Digital Transcript system for the presentation of students’ academic results. The Digital Transcript is a digital document in the form of a PDF file that is a Secure Digital Transcript, meaning it includes a Digital Signature.

The document includes a timestamp in the PDF file that is referenced to Coordinated Universal Time to ensure the reliability of the signing time. The authenticity of the document can be verified, as well as any alterations or forgeries, using a PDF reader program or via a website that checks the originality of PDF files without the need to send it back to the university for data verification. Additionally, the Smart Digital Transcript involves embedding related information into the PDF file in the form of XML or another exchangeable format, making it immediately usable by the organizations to which students submit their educational documents.

Adopting the Digital Transcript system speeds up the process for students requesting their academic documents. Students can immediately receive documents, which reduces the workload and cost of issuing and mailing documents for the university. It also allows organizations to verify documents instantly, saving both time and expenses. Students have the choice to request their academic transcripts in two forms:

1) Regular paper format

2) Digital Transcript format

Depending on the purpose of use by the students or the requirements of organizations where students need to submit their educational documents, students can request their academic performance documents in both paper and digital transcript formats through the university education record system.

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, together with the Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization), the Electronic Transactions Development Agency, and the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission, has awarded RMUTT with a certificate recognizing the institution for implementing Digital Transcripts in its educational processes for over a year. The university is planning to develop all types of educational documents into digital formats to foster the transformation of the university’s operational processes towards the era of Digital Transformation with a focus on efficiency, known as “Digital Transformation B+.”
