02/10/2011Developing linkage system is needed prior to distribute tablets
Mr. Pongpit Tuanpusa, the director of the Office of Academic Resource and Information Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, RMUTT, expressed his opinion about the policy of the government bestowing tablets upon the primary-school-level pupils. Accordingly, he agreed with the mentioned policy because it would help enhance the pupils’ learnable ability. However, providing well-equipped infrastructure to support tablet usage with such proper knowledge is more important. This is possible to be arranged together within the limited time because the tablets have 1-2 years of its life cycle. If that is not done, the offered persons could not be benefited by the offerings as like expectation.
He also believed that the technology can help handle such problems of the Internet addiction. However, comparing to technology implementation in educational matters, the role of teachers is still more significant because teachers will be able both manage the class and use technology in order to gain the most potential benefits.
