28/09/20107,000 new students being accepted to RMUTT
Assoc. Prof. Churairat Duangduen, Ph.D. vice president at RMUTT, said that there is a new policy regarding admissions in year 2011 that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Numyoot Songthanapitak, president of RMUTT has transferred the policy of new students’ admission. There are 3 ways to admit new students; those are by quota, central admission and direct university exams system. Especially, quota system will recruit new students, giving priority to every school from the central region of Thailand which they are nearby the university by grade at 3.00-3.50 above without having exam.”
In addition, vice president addressed that “from having direct university exam system, it always cause the traffic problems, according to there are 2 days for the examination. Therefore, 2011 there will be only 1 day of each examination (two main fields of studies: science and social). Science is on March 10, 2010 and social is on March 11, 2010. Moreover, the examination will focus on only the necessary questions for further studies. Meanwhile, admission system from Office of the Higher Education Commission will be sent the needed number of students later on”
She also added that “there will be 3 ways of applications. Firstly, it is by post. Interested students can purchase the application form from November 1st, 2010 – January 30th, 2011. Secondly, it is by self. Day of application purchase is on November 1st, 2010 – February 28th, 2011. Finally, it is by website (www.rmutt.ac.th). Day of online application started from November 1st, 2010 onward. However, RMUTT also set the limitation of number of students in every generation is at 25,000. Three way of admitting new students is around 7,000 as overall, divided into 24% for quota system, 56% for direct examination and 20% for admission system.”
