Enhancing staffs’ abilities for more competitive market for SMEs in 2015
22/09/2011Women and cosmetics come together. Therefore, the businesses that run their sale with cosmetic products increase, causing cosmetic packages also increase in consequence. Currently, numbers of cosmetic packages now have been increasing continually which finally leads to environmental problems in the future soon.
Mrs. Weepawan Piwsaad, a researcher from Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) worked together with Thai Rung Ruang Innovation Company Limited, a manufacturer who produces plastic package for cosmetic products both in domestic and international exportation to find out a replaceable package so that it can help save the world from pollution.
Mrs. Weepawan told that “the biodegradable plastic is an alternative, but it needs to be initially made by natural materials such as sugarcanes, cassavas, corns, etc. and to be proceeded through fermentation, polymerization and relevance. However, via the process, the package will be finished and is ready to use. From the experimentation, it is found that after using the cosmetic and leaving its package, it can be easily degraded by microorganism within a few weeks. Moreover, carbon dioxide gas and water released by microorganism can also be a nutrient source for plant synthesis. Again, this can be another way to conserve the environment.” Mrs. Weepawan said continually.
The project named ‘Environment Friendly of Biodegradable Cosmetic” sent to compete in the Korea International Women’s invention Exposition 2011 (KIWIE 2011) at Seoul, South Korea won the golden award.
