06/03/2024The 38th Rajamangala University of Technology Games of Thailand, Thanyaburi Games, have successfully concluded. The last event was the closing football match between RMUTT Thanyaburi and RMUT Rattanakosin, which ended in a penalty shootout. RMUT Rattanakosin won against RMUTT Thanyaburi with a score of 5:4. As expected, RMUTT Thanyaburi emerged as the gold medalist leader, with 68 gold medals, 38 silver medals, and 18 bronze medals. In second place, RMUT Bangkok secured 17 gold medals, 11 silver medals, and 9 bronze medals. RMUT Rattanakosin came in third with 13 gold medals, 7 silver medals, and 9 bronze medals.
On the last day of the competition, 33 gold medals were contested. In women’s volleyball, RMUTT Thanyaburi won the gold medal, RMUT Isan took the silver, and RMUT Bangkok secured the bronze. In men’s volleyball, RMUTT Thanyaburi won gold twice, with RMUTT Thanyaburi also taking the silver, and RMUT Bangkok taking the bronze. In women’s beach volleyball, RMUTT Thanyaburi won the gold, RMUT Eastern received the silver, and RMUT Isan took the bronze. In men’s beach volleyball, RMUTT Thanyaburi won the gold, RMUT Eastern took the silver, and RMUT Sriwichai secured the bronze. In men’s basketball, RMUTT Thanyaburi won the gold, RMUT Pranakorn took the silver, and RMUT Isan secured the bronze. In women’s basketball, RMUTT Thanyaburi won the gold, RMUT Isan took the silver, and RMUT Lanna took the bronze. RMUT Rattanakosin won the gold, RMUT Suvarnabhumi took the silver, and RMUT Lanna secured the bronze. In women’s futsal, RMUT Isan won the gold, RMUT Lanna took the silver, and RMUT Sriwichai secured the bronze. In men’s single sepak takraw, RMUT Rattanakosin won the gold, RMUT Isan took the silver, and RMUT Lanna took the bronze. In women’s single sepak takraw, RMUT Isan won the gold, RMUTT Thanyaburi took the silver, and RMUT Rattanakosin took the bronze. In men’s duo sepak takraw, RMUT Isan won the gold, RMUT Suvarnabhumi took the silver, and RMUT Rattanakosin took the bronze. In women’s duo sepak takraw, RMUT Rattanakosin won the gold, RMUT Bangkok took the silver, and RMUT Isan took the bronze.
At 18:00 hrs, at the central stadium of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, Associate Professor Dr. Sommai Pivsa-art, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, presided over the closing ceremony of the 38th Rajamangala University of Technology Games of Thailand, “Thanyaburi Games.” Assistant Professor Anong Rukwong, Director of the Health Promotion and Sports Division of RMUTT Thanyaburi, received the Royal Trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Associate Professor Dr. Kosit Sripudorn, the President of Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, along with the university’s management team and faculty members, participated in the closing ceremony and received the flag to host the 39th Rajamangala University of Technology Thailand Games. The ceremony of handing over the flag to the next host was conducted by Associate Professor Dr. Sommai Piewsawad, the President of RMUTT, who passed the competition’s flag to Associate Professor Dr. Kosit Sripudorn of RMUTI, signifying RMUTI as the host for the games in 2025. RMUTI was honored to host the 39th Rajamangala University of Technology Thailand Games at Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. As part of the preparations, RMUTI organized an “Isan Banterng Sin” performance, presented in the style of traditional Luk Thung and Mor Lam music. The performance featured songs such as “Hugging the Rich Mountain” and “Lam Toey Isan,” showcasing unity, wisdom, and solidarity. The vibrant presentation reflected the joyous spirit and cultural essence of the Isan region, highlighted by the beautiful traditional Mor Lam costumes, performed by over 40 artists.
