09/09/2021- RMUTT hires new graduates in 6 provinces
- as a part of resolving unemployment rate
Asst. Prof. Dr. Sommai Pivsa-Art, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) revealed that Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) gave the nod to a 64-millionn-baht budget for the scheme, starting from this past February. A total of 80 subdistricts and 6 provinces including Pathum Thani, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Nakorn Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo and Chachoengsao will participate in the scheme during its first year. The program, led by RMUTT researchers from across all faculties, is a collaborative partnership between universities and local planning authorities in understanding the views of local communities on design policies in local plans. In primary, district data on individuals, careers, products, and resources were collected in order to promote sustainable development in utilizing subdistrict resources. Because of inadequate community planning in some districts, project leaders and their colleagues will be responsible for assisting, analyzing, and planning to gain understanding community needs, demands and interests. After the project completion, communities are expectantly able to create and maintain their economic and fostering broad-based citizen participation in planning and implementation in agriculture, development of green product as well as supporting SME entrepreneurs, local enterprises and industries.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Sommai Pivsa-Art further added that of 800 new graduates, 770 students (394 from RMUTT’s) were hired to work in the university while of total 400 new graduates, 396 graduates will be working for each subdistrict office and 71 of them will be working as researcher’s assistant. In total, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Home Economics Technology, and Faculty of Integrative Medicine are the top 3 mostly participated by the graduates. Concerning employment rate in those subdistricts, an increase number of hirees, earning 9,000 baht a month including new graduates and locals are found in the area. For those who have graduated within three years will be eligible for applying for the possible positions in each subdistrict matching their expertise.
