Faculty of Mass Communication Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with representatives from Japan, South Korea, China, and Republic of China (Taiwan), to establish Asia Color Association (ACA), as an international research institution.
The MoU preceded the first Asia Color Association Conference, which will be held on 11-14 December 2013 at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Rajamangala University of Technology, under the theme “Blooming Color For Life”. Dr. Vichai Payackso, Faculty’s Dean, revealed that the conference will feature lectures and workshops by senior researchers and academics from the member countries. Some of the topics will include: colors that enhance your look and hair; colors we use in daily life; vision, color, and light mechanisms and display techniques; a comparative study in Asian countries on color preference for factory products; and color difference evaluation for digital images. A representative from Thailand will give a presentation on “The Blooming Colors of Lotus”.
Apart from lectures and workshops, the conference will feature poster presentations and oral presentations on the topics of color vision, color psychology, color design, color application, and color technology. These topics reflect the diversity in the global field of color technology.
“The university received the honor to host the first international conference because it has resources and readiness to open a doctoral program in Human Vision & Color Science in 2014,” said Dr. Vichai. “This program will be Thailand’s first, and the university is equipped with a color research center that meets the international standards, in order to produce graduates with a solid knowledge in the field.”
Researchers who are interested to participate in the conference can submit their research abstracts starting now until 30 June 2013. For more information,
