RMUTT and research team discover bullet-proof fabric.
Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, together with an expert from Mahidol University and their Science Division, Directorate Quartermaster, from the Royal Thai Army, have done research on flak jackets produced in high quality polyester and polyethylene. The fabrics are produced with a special method and they can blunt the force of the bullet much better. From the experiments in this research, it was found that the flak jackets can prevent penetration by a bullet in its 3A material. Therefore, the production of 50 flak jackets will be ordered for and sent to the air force as the next step in this process.
