RMUTT Collaborates with DBC Group to Enhance ‘Personal Data Protection’

       RMUTT held a signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding on promoting personal data protection with DBC Group Co., Ltd. The collaboration aims to strengthen personal data protection, digital security, and data governance in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). The event took place at the Methawi Room, 5th Floor, Academic Services and Information Technology Building, RMUTT, Pathum Thani.

      Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sommai Pivsa-Art, Acting President of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), stated that this partnership is a significant step in enhancing the university’s personal data protection systems to ensure greater security. RMUTT emphasizes creating a reliable environment for storing students’ and staff’s data, protecting it from unauthorized access, and ensuring confidence in using data for development and research. This initiative focuses on equitable access to data and protecting everyone’s rights equally. DBC Group Co., Ltd.’s expertise will contribute to digital security and instill confidence in students and staff at the university. Additionally, it aims to reduce potential personal data breaches from unauthorized access and promote ethical technology use.

 Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amnuay Ruangwari, Director of the Office of Academic Resources and Information Technology at RMUTT, further stated that this collaboration enhances capabilities in data management and compliance with personal data protection laws. This will allow RMUTT to manage data more efficiently. Importantly, it opens opportunities for knowledge exchange and access to modern technology, including best practices from private sector experts, to develop the highest data protection standards in education.

Dr. Udomtipok Praikaset, CEO of DBC Group Co., Ltd., in a special lecture, expressed pride in collaborating with RMUTT, an educational institution that prioritizes personal data protection. RMUTT has already implemented several initiatives. This collaboration not only strengthens data security standards but also develops a transparent and efficient framework. It will promote sustainable data access by maintaining data security that is fitting to the needs of all stakeholders involved. He also thanked RMUTT for having a key unit like the Office of Academic Resources and Information Technology committed to developing systems and personal data protection measures, emphasizing the importance of people’s rights and data safety, preventing incidents that may impact the university’s reputation and credibility.
