12/11/2024The Faculty of Engineering at Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), in collaboration with the private sector, has launched a new non-degree certificate program titled “Application of AI and Computer Programs in Engineering for the Installation of Equipment or Machinery in Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Projects.” This initiative is part of the New Breed Graduate Production Project for the year 2024, supported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. The aim is to produce highly-skilled personnel capable of meeting the demands of the 4.0 labor market, particularly in industries requiring expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and greenhouse gas emission reduction.
This program focuses on developing essential skills for the modern workforce, such as calculations, greenhouse gas emission reduction, application of AI, and the use of computer programs in equipment and machinery installations. It also includes developing English communication skills to enable effective collaboration with international experts. Trainees will be able to identify the carbon footprint sources of projects, effectively communicate with foreign specialists, and efficiently apply AI technology in their work.
The highlight of this program is its integration of theory and practice, learning from industry experts, and emphasizing essential skills for the contemporary workforce. This initiative is in collaboration with the private sector through B Consultant and Construction Co., Ltd., ensuring the course meets real labor market needs and provides students with practical experience in greenhouse gas emission reduction projects.Students will learn and understand the installation process of large-scale equipment or machinery across eight key areas: computer-aided drafting, procurement of tools and machinery for projects, foundation work, steel structure work, equipment and machinery placement, piping systems and HVAC system welding, basic electrical and instrumentation work, and usability testing. The training program consists of 12 modules over 36 days.
This course launch is a significant step in developing a workforce aligned with evolving technology. It aligns with the policy of Ms. Supamas Isaraphakdi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, aiming to train 50,000 AI professionals within five years. The first training session takes place at Building 8, Department of Mechanical Engineering, 2nd Floor, Room 822 at RMUTT, with Ms. Nareerat Thanakasem, Director of Capacity Development and Knowledge Dissemination Office, Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization), serving as the speaker.
