20/02/2021Preparations for undergraduate programme at Uniuersity of Otago, New Zealand, get underway.
New Zealand is one of the most ideal destinations to travel to and pursue educational goals. Now, the Faculty of Business Administration, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), Thailand’s state university, noted for its outstanding development of quality educational curricula for 46 years, is joining hands with the University of Otago, New Zealand’s oldest state university, recognised for its research-intensive programme and innovative development, to launch a Joint Programme for M.5, M.6, and other prospective students who wish to obtain a bachelor’s degree from the University of Otago, New Zealand University Rankings) and top 1% of business schools (EQUIS, AAACSB). Most importantly, 95% of graduates from Otago are offered job placements around the world or further their higher education at other world- leading academic institutes. Blessed with its tranquil education environment, University of Otago enables students to participate in a multi-cultural social gathering while enjoying excellent security and exploring first-rate academic programmes. Moreover, students are encouraged to do research and aim to innovate. All this affirms the quality of Otago graduates who go on to enjoy employment in both government and private sectors around the globe. The Joint Programme in Business Foundation Studies by RMUTT and University of Otago requires students to take an 8-week pre-English course for 15 hours/week to prepare and build English foundation skills. The courses are conducted with University of Otago lecturers via online platforms, including Zoom, Microsoft 365 Teams, and Blackboard. In the 2021 academic year, the Joint Programme in Business Foundation Studies combines studies taught by Otago and RMUTT professors. Seven subjects taught include Academic English 1, Academic English 2, Introduction to Marketing, Introduction to Accounting, Business, Applications of Computing, and Introduction to Management. The courses are taught online by Otago’s professors. Three other subjects, namely, Mathematics for Commerce, Economics, and Introduction to Business Finance, are taught face- to-face with RMUTT professors at Thai-New Zealand Centre (TNZC) in Bangkok. To provide students maximum online learning proficiency, expand their opportunities to think outside the box, and give them confidence to articulate their opinions, each class is limited to 10-15 students. Foundation Studies comprises two semesters (26 weeks) where students learn with native English- speaking Otago and RMUTT professors. The active learning environment ensures that students are exposed to a comprehensive international teaching style and are ready to join classes at University of Otago in New Zealand once the Covid-19 lockdown has eased.
M.5 students with GPA 2.5 and M.6 students with GPA 2.0 who obtain 5.0 or higher IELTS scores are eligible to participate in the Joint Programme in Business Foundation Studies by RMUTT and University of Otago. For more information or to
