Cultivation of a Fruitful Chinese-Thai Cooperation at RMUTT in 2023 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sumonman Niamlang, RMUTT Vice President for Planning and International Strategy, attended the 2023 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, sharing RMUTT experiences on Chinese-Thai cooperation on Vocational-University human resources development at China-Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN) International Convention Center, Guizhou, China on August 28, 2023.

The event aims at motivating the academic cooperation between China and foreign countries to the new era, and new opportunities through the cooperative new missions for high-quality education. The event also provides an opportunity for academic institutions to cultivate more beneficial collaboration for human resource upgrading under the people-to-people Jingshi development programs and others facilitated by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. Currently, RMUTT fosters more achievements in education innovation to create an international talent workforce through 3+X-degree programs. Chinese students who are certified in their vocational study can continue their degree at RMUTT for 1 or 1.5 years upon the agreement between cooperating institutions. Thai students gain the benefits of working with Chinese companies both in Thailand and China after their graduation by getting a Chinese vocational certificate when they pass an 18-month exchange program.

In accordance with the cooperation among 6 partner-countries with 9 programs under 5 universities, Jingshi Institute has been developing a cooperation system through the school-school-industries cooperation in 11 technological educational fields. Apart from promoting international learning, Jingshi Institute attempts to expand cooperation into international research in the fields of robotics, innovation, etc. The institute also provides opportunities for international students through exchange programs. Many experts have participated in teaching and conducting overseas training. The countries cooperating under Jingshi Institute desiring to strengthen through Jingshi Institute will be sustainable and provide plenty of benefits in the group of cooperative institutions and countries.
