04/10/2010Students from Field of Industrial Education, Faculty of Technical Education, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, invented a small brown rice machine by using people power. The machine, with its size approximately 50x150x150, is intentionally designed for agriculturist in the community in order to mill the rice for household consumption. Its capacity can help them store their own rice for 4-5 days and save time and money because they will not have to transport their paddy. Moreover, it also promotes the farmer to do exercise because this machine needs the spin power, produced by man. In this project, students kindly have Asst. Prof. Tawatchai Kamdang as their consultant.
Students from field of Product Development, Faculty of Agro industry, Kasetsart University have studied and developed new Thai dessert named Tart tai (from previous Thai dessert named Khanomkhrok). Tart tai is an instant Khanomkhrok made from jasmine brown rice No. 105 and it can be stored as long as 1 month. Moreover, this Thai dessert also won the award on “Innovative Food Production” from “Globalize Thai Food to Creative Economy” conducted by Food Science and Technology Association of Thailand (FoSTAT), Agro-Industry Academic Council Association (AIAC) and National Innovation Agency (NIA) at Food Innovation Asia Conference 2010
Assoc. Prof. Jaruwat Charoensuk, Field of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang has developed burner. This result came from the comparison of efficiency of burner of between gases used in household and industry including palm oil burning as its experiment of its efficiency. It is found that the heat power efficiency of burner of palm oil is little lesser than the others’. However, after 30, the burner used with palm oil can save money 36.55 per heat unit used or approximately 115 baht per week. Its cost of product is at 3,000 baht helping having return rate within 6.5 months.
