Architecture Students from RMUTT Won the Winner Award in House Design

Landy Home (Thailand) Company Limited, the homebuilding center, has been organized “Landy Design Contest 2016” project with the theme of “Prefabricated Steel House for Small House”. Within this contest project, there were students of 30 teams from 3 universities consisted of Naresuan University, Rangsit University, and Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) submitted their designs. Student teams from Faculty of Architecture minoring in Architectural Technology, RMUTT, won 3 awards. “Len Len HOUSE” design project, team have been acquired 1st winner award in concept design. The students in this design project team consisted of Ms. Suphitchaya Wanitchayapathiyuth, Ms. Saruda Phromdit, Mr. Thanaphoom Thongprasert, Mr. Jirasak Junramanee, and Mr. Phattharaphong Phookmor. “Your Space Home” design project, team have been acquired honorable mention award. The students in this design project team consisted of Mr. Panthanarn Boonkharn, Mr. Warayuth Suttipongkiet, and Mr. Thodsaphon Thanasuttiphan. “Cradle House” design project, team have been acquired publication award. The students in this design project team consisted of Ms. Nopporn Sinpraru, Mr. Phanyathat Sangnark, and Mr. Aniruth Hummaree.
Student’s team from “Len Len House” design project, 1st winner award in concept design, have been shared that the conceptual idea of this design project came from the diversity needs of each family member. Each member in the family would like to construct and decorate their dream house from their own wishes including personally functional needed. Furthermore, the characteristics of Thai people are changed their needs and wants over time regarding to trending and also uninterested in common places. “Len Len House” design project has been adapted those factors and designed base on human toy’s theme where they are able to customize their house whenever they wants and needs. The layout of house is flexible and each component is replaceable as well. To make house more special and completely up to personal needs over time, we based our design on material’s standard and also thought about returnable roof structure where we could return and recycle to new shape by adding materials or insulators with Landy Home (Thailand) Company Limited.
Students team from “Your Space Home” design project, honorable mention award, have been shared that they have been analyzed concept design from some specific areas in northeast region especially areas nearby our Thai neighbor (special economic areas in ASEAN) on the concept of “Better Living”. From the analysis, they have been adapted the cultural and living style of northeast people into their project design, uniqueness in sticky rice bamboo container theme. The mood and tone of design project aimed to show the story of northeast diner style. Their house is designed to relate with environmental factors such as context and atmosphere. It also used stripped bamboo weave to protect house as a sunshade and the heat temperature won’t be able to store in the roof, opened-roof for natural air flow.
