RMUTT Thanyaburi launches a new program catering to digital age engineers, focusing on AI to reduce global warming
11/11/2024The university submitted six research projects to compete in the 18th International Warsaw Invention Show (IWIS 2024) in Warsaw, Poland. With more than 500 research projects from over 25 countries, RMUTT Thanyaburi’s entries won a prestigious total of 14 awards: one Grand Prize, two Special Prize On Stage awards, six Gold Medals, and five Special Awards. This achievement is a significant source of pride, showcasing Thailand’s reputation on the global stage.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sommai Pivsa-Art, Acting President of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), stated that RMUTT is dedicated to supporting research focused on social innovation and environmental sustainability. The awarded projects not only highlight the capabilities of our personnel and researchers but also reflect their contributions to society on an international level. RMUTT is committed to continuous research development to ensure practical application in industry and societal advancement.
The awarded research projects are as follows:
- “Eco-Friendly Hollow Products from Recycled Polymers,” led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Narongchai Ocharoen from the Faculty of Engineering, received the Grand Prize: The Best Foreign Invention, a Gold Medal, and a Special Award from WIIPA.
- “Oyster-Rocktic: Artificial stone made by oyster shells and marine plastic wastes,” by the research team of Asst. Prof. Captain Designee. Dr. Kittiphong Suweero and colleagues, received a Special Prize on Stage from Poland, a Gold Medal, and a Special Award from Taiwan.
- “Happy Trends Coffee,” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Korawinwich Boonpisutthinant, received a Special Prize on Stage from China and a Gold Medal.
- “BioWood,” by the research team of Asst. Prof. Dr. Prachum Kumputh and colleagues, received a Gold Medal and Special Award from WIIPA.
- “Innovative Anti-Aging Lotion from Giant Gooseberry,” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Korawinwich Boonpisutthinant, received a Gold Medal and Special Award from Croatia.
- “Happy Trends Mix 9-Natural Oils,” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Korawinwich Boonpisutthinant, received a Gold Medal and Special Award from WIIPA.
The Acting President of RMUTT, Thanyaburi, stated that this success underscores the university’s commitment to supporting high-quality international research and innovation. It also enhances Thailand’s reputation in the fields of science and technology. Importantly, it aligns with sustainable development goals, such as creating sustainable innovations, addressing plastic waste issues, and promoting health and well-being. This marks a significant step in applying knowledge and innovation to make a positive impact on the international stage.
