Recently, the Faculty of Home Economics Technology of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) held an academic exhibition which is as part of Culture and Arts of Home Economics Technology scheme entitled, ““Inheritance of Art to Community of Innovation”. Hosted at Talabangkla Riviera Resort, Chachoengsao, this academic demonstration aims to provide participants with novel research and art works of Home Economics Technology in order to publicize university students and researchers of Home Economics Technology Faculty.
During the three-day “Inherit Arts & Crafts to Community of Innovation” exhibition, Departments of Textiles and Clothing showcased their textile works under the concept of “Textiles to Community of Innovation” while Department of Foods and Nutrition displayed their expertise under the concept of Food for Community of Innovation, and Home Economics Studies shows their skills with the concept of “Inherit Artworks to Sustain local Wisdom”. In addition, Family and Child Development Department demonstrated their research works on Early Childhood Instructional Materials whereas, Graduate School of Home Economics Technology presented their works under the notion of “Graduates Create Innovations for the Sustainability of Home Economics Technology”. Faculty of Mass Communication, Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Integrative Medicine, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, and , Faculty of Engineering had also exhibited their research works as well.
During the exhibition, representatives from different departments of Home Economics demonstrated their craftworks including Creative Home Economics: Woven Mobile from Palm Leaves ; Food and Nutrition : Bang Kla Pizza ; Textiles and Clothing : The Art of Kram Dyeing ; Family and Child Development : Pedagogical Materials for Early Childhood; Graduate School : “Din Thai Sarm Phra Tuan” Garland ; Foods and Nutrition : Thong Ut dessert supplemented with Narm Wa banana powder; Family and Child Development : DIY Worsted Bag ; Creative Home Economics : Palm Leaves Garland; and Graduate School : Pad Rew Fish scent-bag. .
Additionally, a Home Economics Competition was also organized and awarded projects related to home economic skills under the theme of ‘Creative Baskets, Innovative Products’. A first prize winners who received a Thai Home Economics Association trophy under the support of Her Majesty the Queen is LumYai Sup Sup Sup team from Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon. The second runner-up was Satree Phra Nakorn Tai team from Rajamangala University of Technology Bangkok and the third runner-up was Boon manee team from Hua Sai Moo1 community.
