RMUTT Thanyaburi and Muang Thai Insurance Tie-Dye for the Heart, Sending Encouragement to Breast Cancer Patients
19/03/2024Congratulations to the students for participating in the Thailand Design Creator Competition with 2 awards received.
22/03/2024First-year students from the Landscape Technology program, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), which include Mr. Paradorn Bangmo, Mr. Surasak Soiraya, Ms. Thanyarat Chamchongchok, Mr. Natthawut Yutthakit, Ms. Nantacha Taosingha, and Mr. Piyaryut Butrsak, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Sukanya Chaipong, Lecturer Chanoknan Pintabenjang, and Mr. Phongsakorn Suksangkaew, won the excellent award and received the royal trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The competition was held in a 3×4 meter Japanese garden design event during the 16th Eastern Ornamental Plants Fair, organized by the Eastern Ornamental Plants Association at Chonburi Provincial Hall. Professor Chanoknan Pintobtaeng revealed that there are a total of 9 teams competing in this tournament, with 6 awards in total: the Grand Prize, 1st-3rd prizes, and 2 consolation prizes. Given the theme of Japanese garden design, our team presented the idea of a traditional Japanese garden that focuses on nature and the truth of the materials. We incorporated the landscape of mountains and streams into our work, including moss mounds, lush green terrain simulation, and using gravel to mimic water surfaces. Additionally, we integrated easily sourced materials such as layered bamboo walls with hidden lighting to represent a refreshing mountain view with a warm touch. The garden emphasizes nature and can be viewed beautifully from three sides. Each side should be photo-worthy, and we aimed to minimize the use of rigid materials and structures to stay close to nature. We also considered budget-friendly garden designs that are easy to maintain so viewers could recreate them.
Freshman student “K,” Mr. Paradorn Bangmo, in the Landscape Technology program, recounted having previously participated in the “Little Backyard” garden corner competition, organized by Future Park & Zpell, and won the first prize. He felt deeply honored to receive the royal trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. This grand achievement wouldn’t have been possible without critical advice from his academic advisor, and he expressed gratitude to the organizing team and judges for recognizing their abilities and dedication. The team meticulously planned everything, from design, sourcing suitable plants and materials, to execution, aiming for minimal errors. The chosen plants included Red Melaleuca, twisted natural-form Jasmine Roses, and primary and secondary plants like Dwarf Bamboo, Chinese Bamboo, Creeping Juniper, Weeping Willow, Raindrop Bracken, and other fine-leaved plants for a relaxing Japanese garden. Additional plants enhancing nature and beauty included Variegated Ivy, Green Ribbon, Black Fern, Creeping Gold Fern, Nest Fern, Dwarf Begonia, Rust Philodendron, Silver Fern, Royal Fern, and Australian Pine, with moss covering the soil for details and aesthetics.
