RMUTT Drives Sustainable Water Management Innovation in Collaboration with European Partners Under the NEUTRAL4GS Project

Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) continues to earn international recognition by winning 7 awards at the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva 2025 held in Geneva, Swiss Confederation. The exhibition featured over 1,000 entries from more than 40 countries.
Associate Professor Dr. Sommai Pivsa-Art, Acting President of RMUTT, stated that RMUTT’s works were selected by the National Research Office (NRCT) under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation to represent Thailand at the event. RMUTT secured a total of 7 awards from 5 research projects from the university’s researchers and 1 joint project with the private sector. These include “Banana Fiber Knee and Joint Support Fabric” by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chanakan Reungnarong, Faculty of Home Economics Technology, winning the Gold Medal with Jury. The “Image Monitoring System using AI and Railway Parameters for Autonomous Rail Vehicles” by Mr. Apisit Muangmuang, Assistant Professor Manoosak Jantong , and Associate Professor Jakree Srinonchat, Faculty of Engineering, won the Silver Medal and NRCT Special Award. The “Artificial Intelligence Platform for Material Property Recognition for Use in Robots and Intelligent Prosthetics” by Mr. Tossaphol Kaewrakhmuk and Associate Professor Jakree Srinonchat, Faculty of Engineering, received the Silver Medal. The “3-kilowatt Solar Cell-Powered Air Compression System for Water Treatment” by Associate Professor Dr. Wirachai Roynarin and Mr. Sirisak Pangwutwanich, Faculty of Engineering, secured a Silver Medal, and the “Virtual Reality Technology Learning Innovation for Skin Components” by Assistant Professor Piyanan Pannim Vipahasna and Dr. Kitipoom Vipahasna, Faculty of Industrial Education, received the Special Award for Outstanding Innovation from the Hong Kong International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sommai further mentioned another project conducted by RMUTT researchers in collaboration with DMD Math and Research Co., Ltd., named “PolypThrive: settlement substrate for coral polyp with growth acceleration” by Associate Professor Warunee Ariyawiriyanan and Professor Dr. Sanong Ekgasit, Chulalongkorn University, which received the Silver Medal. This project aims to sustainably restore coral reefs using eco-friendly material technology. RMUTT is committed to being an innovation university, continuously supporting research and development to create an innovation ecosystem conducive to student learning, industry collaboration, and positive societal impact.
