RMUTT Strengthens International
05/02/2025On April 14-16, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sommai Pivsa-Art, Acting President of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weeraporn Piboonpattanasook and Dr. Teerakanya Sripoh, members of the Steering Committee of the Innovating with nature for sustainable water management in the global south (NEUTRAL4GS) project, which is supported by the HORIZON-Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions-Staff Exchange (MSCA Staff Exchanges 2023) fund of the European Union, attended a meeting at Aarhus University, Risø Campus, Denmark. The delegation also participated in a study visit to investigate the sustainable water management systems utilized by the Kilianwater Group.
The meeting focused on planning academic services for sustainable hospital wastewater management systems. During the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Sommai Pivsa-Art presented information on Thailand’s current situation to collaboratively determine sustainable solutions between European Union partners and the university. The participants discussed plans for a stakeholder engagement meeting specifically related to hospital wastewater treatment, which RMUTT will host in July. This activity will provide an opportunity for government agencies, private sector representatives, civil society organizations, and community members to contribute information, suggestions, and jointly develop efficient approaches to hospital wastewater management.
Additionally, the meeting explored possibilities for expanding university-level cooperation, particularly in student and academic staff exchange programs between the two institutions. This would allow RMUTT to gain internship opportunities in Denmark, learn about advanced technologies and best practices, and gain international cultural experiences and skills development.
RMUTT is committed to fully utilizing the NEUTRAL4GS project to create positive impacts on Thai society and environment. Collaboration with European partners not only brings new knowledge and technologies but also establishes strong cooperative networks that will serve as an important foundation for sustainable development in the future.
