RMUTT dreams to invest its own dormitories

Assoc.Professor .Numyoot Songthanapitak,Ph.D. ,the President of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi revealed that RMUTT is preparing  facilities for a  new semester in an academic year 2010  such as buildings, parking, scenery, dormitories, and other facilities for both lecturers and students.

Especially ,in dormitory,now  we have been able to provide  accommodations for 2,000 students only. In facts, there are more than a thousand students are interested in university dormitory service. Hence, we had to give these opportunities to those new students rather than current students. If there were some rooms available ,those waiting lists would be contacted.

The president of RMUTT added that from the statistic,it is found that there was always insufficient in  accommodations for  5,000-6,000 students. Obviously, parents themselves would like their children to having accommodations in the university area due to the security provided, male and female dormitories divided significantly, facilities, inexpensive cost of living and no-wasting time of travelling .

For students who already reserved their accommodations but still no rooms available, we are trying to find the solution  by selecting some private apartments where are located in university area and achieved the standard that university expects in order to help students searching their accommodations at first.

“ We have to offer all available rooms for the first- year students because the majority of students came from countryside. According to the first-year of students’lives, they need to adapt themselves to the environment and studies. Therefore, living in a hall of residence provided  together with some lecturers who look after them  is obviously better than living on their own.Generally,parents want their children to live in the secured  place with less cost of living.However,the dormitories that we provided is the contracts between private sector and RMUTT which sometimes cam make some difficulties .Hence,we are trying to set the budgets to build our own dormitories.”he said.
