26/02/2025The National Innovation Agency (Public Organization) or NIA, in collaboration with Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), organized an Open House event titled “Platform for Promoting Essential Innovation Business for National Development” for Fiscal Year 2025. This event aims to provide opportunities for entrepreneurs in clean energy, circular economy, and low-carbon economy sectors to receive funding support of up to 5 million baht. They also receive one-on-one expert consultations to help accelerate the commercialization of Thai innovations. Over 160 Thai entrepreneurs participated at The Berkeley Hotel, Pratunam, Bangkok.
Associate Professor Dr. Sommai Pivsa-Art, Acting President of RMUTT, revealed that this event is a continuation of the collaboration between RMUTT and NIA. The aim is to support the development of high-potential innovation businesses, push research and technology into the market concretely, especially in areas related to clean energy and the circular economy. These areas are crucial for sustainable national development, focusing on efficient resource use, waste reduction, and promoting circular economy concepts, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Supporting businesses focusing on green innovation and clean energy helps reduce environmental impact, enhances the quality of life, and creates balanced economic growth. This forms a crucial foundation for Thailand to enter a low-carbon economy in the future, alongside promoting and supporting Thai entrepreneurs.
Associate Professor Dr. Kiattisak Sangpradit, Director of the Research and Development Institute at RMUTT, added that besides funding opportunities, this event also provided a platform to listen to experiences from previous funding recipients. Entrepreneurs also had opportunities for in-depth consultations with experts, helping them develop projects more effectively and meet evaluation criteria. Additionally, it fostered business networking among entrepreneurs, investors, and supporting agencies, crucial for expanding markets and enhancing the competitiveness of Thai innovation businesses.
Moreover, Dr. Sura-at Supachattura , Deputy Executive Director of the National Innovation Agency, delivered a lecture on NIA’s role in supporting innovation businesses, emphasizing financial platforms that facilitate easier access to funding for entrepreneurs. Meanwhile, Dr. Amphol Aphathanakorn, Senior Innovation Development Manager, introduced the innovation business promotion platform for Fiscal Year 2025, helping entrepreneurs access funding, consultations, and business networks. Event activities included introducing funding application criteria, sharing experiences from grantees, and one-on-one consultations to help entrepreneurs develop projects and increase competitiveness.
