President of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), Asst. Prof. Dr. Sommai Pivsa-Art revealed that researchers from The Center of Excellence in Biotechnology – Nano and Digital Innovation (COE) in collaboration with Kaewkanda Co., Ltd developed a high-quality automatic disinfection tunnel that provided solution for human disinfection with the fogging method that neutralizes the microorganisms including viruses and bacteria. The fogging was automatically activated by the sensor detection and reached microorganisms in all body areas where the fog touches in 6 seconds. Physically impair persons including those who used wheel-chair would be able to enter the tunnel. The machine could be capable of servicing people from 5,000 to 7,000 persons a day with only 2 liters of disinfectant which was developed by COE of Nano – Microorganism and Digital Innovation, Faculty of Science and Technology. The automatic tunnels had met domestically accepted standards enabling them to be installed in places where a number of people gather including educational institutes, private companies, government offices as well as department stores, sports facilities and exhibitions.
At present, the research teams had added screening and monitoring intelligence functions to the tunnel so as to help screening risk groups, track them and gather information that could be analyzed for further use of those data by the Center of Excellence in Biotechnology – Nano and Digital Innovation (COE), Faculty of Science and Technology, RMUTT. Regarding to the disinfectant, the liquid could be mixed with water or other alcohol cleaning products in the ratio of 1:100 thus making them very helpful for sanitizing germs and microorganisms. Above all, with the aim of producing research and innovation as well as to response to the urgent needs of the people, disinfectants developed by the Center of Excellence were contained in bottles and refills with additional mixtures of herb extractions making them refreshing with great scents without reactions to sensitive skin that could neutralize 99.99% of bacteria and viruses.
