01/02/2024“Rajamangala Thanyaburi” hosts the 9 RMUTs Business Management Skills Competition under the concept “Grow, Differentiate, Creatively”.
The Faculty of Business Administration, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), organized a grand event to welcome faculty and students from the Rajamangala University of Technology (RMUT) network nationwide to participate in the Business Management Skills Competition among the 9 RMUTs. This event was hosted under the theme of sustainable development goals, promoting the concept “Grow, Differentiate, Creatively”.
The opening ceremony was held at Rajamangala Auditorium, RMUTT in Pathum Thani. Associate Professor Dr. Kritchanon Phumikitpipat, Vice President of RMUTT, stated that the seminar and academic skills competition in business management among the 9 RMUTs is a significant academic event. It rotates among the 9 RMUTs nationwide every year. This year, RMUTT is the main host, organizing various sub-activities to provide opportunities for all participants—including students, faculty members, and stakeholders—to exchange experiences and knowledge in business management. The academic skills competition aims to review and demonstrate the participants’ potential, as well as foster good relationships for future collaboration, relationship building, and educational networking. This process will lead to the development and adaptation of business education management in line with societal and global contexts under the sustainable development goals.
“We hope that business administration students from all 9 RMUTs will gain valuable experiences, life guidance, career paths, or educational choices from the projects held.” As a result, RMUTT has been ranked among the top 8 in the ‘Teaching and Learning Strategy of the Year’ category at the THE Awards Asia 2024. RMUTT submitted a project focused on the development, improvement, and promotion of students’ digital skills, specifically in computer and information technology. This initiative is part of the university’s continuous policy to promote and support educational excellence, aiming to enhance the academic and professional capabilities, creativity, and lifelong learning of its students. This achievement underscores RMUTT’s quality of education as one of the top 8 in Asia.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kritschnom Bhumikitpichchaya, Vice President of RMUTT, added that the initiative to enhance digital skills in computer and IT through the IC3 DIGITAL LITERACY CERTIFICATE involves international standards of skill assessment, covering hardware, software, office applications, internet, and basic network skills. The evaluation and certification process ensures that students’ competencies in using computers and various tools meet internationally recognized standards. RMUTT has mandated a basic computer course for all students, with the initiative fully implemented since 2015 by the Office of Academic Resources and Information Technology.
This learning model has effectively increased the student pass rate from 53.74% to 86.78%, allowing students to gain certification faster, spend more time on other learning or part-time work, and receive higher salaries by 1,000-2,000 THB. Additionally, the university has reduced costs related to hiring teachers and electricity by 86%. The digital skills development also supports students to compete and succeed globally, attaining world championships and promoting lifelong learning through a credit transfer system and the i-credit bank.
